ANTHROPOLOGICAL SYMPOSIUM

CALL FOR POSTER

PRESENTATIONS

Date: Saturday, March 14th 2009

Time: 9:00 AM

Location: Mihaylo Hall – 1502

  • Poster presentations are a great way to share your research interests in an intimate, worry-free setting.
  • Looks great on your CV.
  • Gain experience in presentation skills.

Criteria and Guidelines:

An abstract of approx. 150 words must be submitted by in order for your work to be considered and accepted for display at the symposium. Please email abstracts to ASA in a MS Word attachment at csuf.asa@gmail.com by MONDAY, MARCH 9, 2009.

You must be an undergraduate or graduate student in the field of Anthropology or related social science, physical or natural science discipline. You must submit your own authentic work or work that was conducted as a group project in the topic of anthropology. You must be in good academic standing with your current institution.

Posters can be no larger than 32" x 40" and will be displayed on easels provided by CSUF. Presenters must furnish boards as well as any pins, tacks, tape, or other materials needed. You are strongly urged to make and bring your poster on one large board that can simply be placed on an easel for display. All materials should be well attached to the board. ONE easel will be allocated per poster, and will be numbered.

It is strongly recommended that your poster be prepared on a single sheet of mat board or foam core board approximately 32" x 40". Your poster, including graphs, legends, introductory and concluding material, will be viewed from a distance. To be legible, the smallest lettering should be at least 18 point font. Titles should be at least 1" (72 point font). Avoid unnecessary details in preparing charts, drawings and illustrations. Try to keep the presentation as simple as possible. Your poster should be self-explanatory so that you are free to discuss and answer questions.
