With Christmas coming up, all the top video game companies are at their most competitive. Here, you can post which console you think is the best. I'll start:
I think the Wii is the best, due to all its ground breaking features, such as motion-sensitive controllers. Also, the Wii is much less expensive that the Xbox360 and PS3. I can't wait to get my hands on the Wii.
Last weekend was my christmas party and one of my cousins brought the Wii. After playing it for a short time, I've got to say it was awesome! The Wii is the best gaming console yet! I hope I get it for my birthday.
I'm all in favor of moving the elemnts around whenever I please. Unfortunatlly, in Avatar The Last Airbender, the Game, that's not the case. The game is deeply based on the TV show, but has it's own story line that is at times even more suspenseful than the show. In-spite of these things, the game is over far too quickly, and there are several graphical glitches. The game highly resembles Justice League, Ultimate Alliance, with special clothing to modify how your character preforms, and upgradable moves. The game is definatly worth playing, but it would be nice if it was longer. Rating: 7.5
All right, here's one for you. The Wii currently has a trial version of its web browser out. In fact, I'm using the Wii to post this message. The server is slow right now because so many people are using their Wiis, but the website looks pretty cool on TV.
While the Wii is great, it does have some formidible opponents. The X-BOX 360 has very impressive graphics, as does the PS3. Also, the X-BOX 360 offers an online service that allows people to play against each other over the internet, much like the Wii will. Also, the PS3 has controllers that are motion-sensitive to a certain point, but not as much so as the Wii is.
The unexpected game from Konami seems most like a first-person shooter game for kids thatn anything else. The game has some great puzzle elements, and it is fun to throw furniture down the stairs, but surprisingly, it also has enemies, and from what I've heard, boss battles. The main character goes around chasing down little creatures called Elebits, hoping to force them to power his favorite TV show, since the power went out. While his motives are questionable, the rest of the game has my approval.
The latest Paper Mario game was originally scheduled for Gamecube release, but instead it has come to our favorite game system, the Wii! The game follows the traditional formula for Paper Mario games, and the storyline takes some very interesting twists, and Mario always has one of his Pixl partners following him (more on Pixls later). However, unlike other paper Mario games, early in the story, you gain the abiltity to flip into "3D mode". What you thought was a wall in 2D turns out to be just a pillar. Enemies become paper flat! Bottomless pits sometimes have bridges that can't be seen in the second dimension. While Mario does get some help from Peach, Luigi, and even Bowser as playable characters, light creatures called Pixls are the ones following our hero around the several dimensions he traverses. Needless to say, this is the must play Paper Mario! ESRB: E for Everyone Rating: 9.5
It's not every day that a game gets a 9.5 rating from IGN, but Corruption has managed to do just that. After being called on by the galactic federation to do its dirty work once again, Samus Aran has an unfortunate encounter with Dark Samus. She escapes, but not before Dark Sammy infects her with the Phazon substance that has corrupted several of the worlds she has visited. The story is great, the gameplay is fantastic, and although it doesn't exactly share Halo 3's succsess, it is certainly a game you would want to play. ESRB: T for Teen Rating:10
Nintendo has released yet another game starring our favorite flatulent villain, Wario. Play tons of hysterical Micro Games by doing hilarious poses with the Wii remote. There are a few too many girly games for me, but where else can you use a Wii remote to pick someone's nose? ESRB: E10 for ages Ten and Up Rating:8.0
Quickrule: Sega has sacrificed precision for speed everywhere in this game. Attacks lock onto enemies that are impossible to reach, the camera gets stuck, etc. ESRB: E for Everyone Rating:5.0
