 Everglades 100th Birthday Challenge

There are hundreds of ways you can celebrate the 100th Birthday of Girl Scouts.

Join us in the Everglades 100th Birthday Service Challenge:

>  Choose an issue you would like to work on, either with your Troop or as an Individual.  Use the list and examples for ideas.

>  Team up with your community, i.e.:
   ~  Who can educate you more about the issue you chose?
   ~  Who within the community will benefit from your project?
   ~  Who will you ask help from or involve in your project?

>  Put your plan into motion Be Sure To Read the Guidelines Provided Below and Follow the Challenge Criteria:

Challenge Projects ...

... involve and promote Girl Scouts in the community.
... are girl led (while adult help and resources are important, girls must be activity involved in the planning, decision-making and carrying out of the project)
... use the "100" notion in some way.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
GSSEF is hoping to find girls who would like to create handmade thank you letters to be given out to those people who have helped GSSEF in any way. The cards should be general Thank You cards that don't say anything specific, so they can be distributed out to anyone regardless of how they have assisted us.  Please feel free to be as creative as you like. Let the girls use funky cut outs, glitter (if you're brave enough), markers, colored papers, etc... to make these cards.  Also please keep in mind that they need to be small enough to fit in an envelope of some sort, so we ask that you don't have them make poster-board cards.  Grab a few different sized envelopes from your junk mail pile and use them as reference for what may or may not work.  Nothing shows appreciation like cards from the girls!  Once the cards are completed or if you have questions, please email Sara Barnett at sbarnett@gssef.org or call my cell at 407-721-1822.
Hi, My daughter will be 8 in November & we live in Parkland. She is excited about joining Brownies, but, due to food allergies is on an Organic diet. Is there a troop in the Everglades unit that follows an Organic lifestyle? If so, my daughter would love to be a part of your troop. Please contact me at bbronkhorst@lmconstruction.biz Thanks!
