 Map to GMB Range

Come with me on a trip through some of the most awesome scenery in Colorado.  As you travel from Hwy 6&50/Grand Ave & 1st Street in Grand Junction towards the Colorado National Monument.  You will travel along hwy 340 to Monument Road and the exit for the Monument. Upon entering the park, tell the ranger you are going to the Archery Range.  Follow the Monument Road to the turn off for Glade Park, travel approximately .9 mile and turn right into the range.  Along the way you will see some awesome sandstone  formations, interesting greenery and  panoramic views of the Grand Valley .   When you reach the Grand Mesa Bowmen Archery Range, you are at one of the best Archery  Ranges in the State.  Double click on the red baloon in the square below.

We had several chases on cats that were very smart. The first cat we turned out on went from snow to bare ground an stayed there. The dogs had a hard time following him, but they stayed with him until he gave them the slip on a hill side that was nothing but boulders. The second chase covered three canyons and several rims. Just as the dogs would catch up to the lion he would rim them and head out. During one of the rimmings he had a enough time to kill a fawn deer, but not enough time to eat. This chase started at about 630am and ended at 600pm. At 600 when we picked up the dogs we were almost right back where we started. The lion went out a came back on the same track. Had to leave one dog on the mountain because he would not stop hunting. Picked him up in the morning. The final day found u
