Dolores and Lee are smiling to see Maureen, Barbara and Karen meet for lunch. We always enjoy catching up and laugh lots. The drive to Barb's and directions by Maureen provide an interesting journey on Roosevelt Boulevard.
Elvis was sighted approaching North on I476! There was a woman in the car too! He was driving slowly, but I could not get around him to get a good look. Proof he is alive!
Will Reinaldo be opening a Hair Salon on Main Street? Who knew he had the talents to highlight Michael's hair? No finished photo was provided but heard very blonde!
We celebrated our 3rd Anniversary by spending the night at the Joseph Ambler Inn which is one of our favorite places to dine. Because the mother of a bride wanted our room earlier for the wedding, we were upgraded from Thomas Wilson to the Allman Suite. French doors opened to a private small pool. The bed was so high, we had steps to get into it. We were treated royally. A hidden secret in North Wales. The spacious grounds and historical atmosphere are simply gorgeous!
May 31st will be Michael's last night at the Whitemarsh after 7 years, so we decided to have dinner before then. It turned out to be a fun evening with Aunt Betty and Joan's family, lots of old friends from Roxborough, Marilyn, Dottie from Full Circle, Charlene and many others. He truly will be missed.
Penny has always been the go getter and recently landed a job with Access Health. It's the DVD you may watch in your doctor's office. Her job is to replace outdated DVDs with the current one. Since Sanjay Gupta is the speaker she proudly announces she also works for CNN. Here are the many supplies she received to start her new entrepreneurship!
I never knew they had a name, but I thought they might add to the look of the opening between our living room and dining room. Of course, Victor found them at Home Depot and painted, caulked and hung them up. He just loves home projects. I keep him challenged! Nice look!
Victor always states that he was normal before he met me. I don't think so as acts such as wearing these teeth while we were out for dinner comes so natural and easy for him. Truly my soulmate!
Dottie Ann is not only a nurse but a great sister. She has recently spent time with little brother David who suffered recent heart issues. Prayers were heard and answered as Davey is on the mend and doing great! Dottie has also enjoyed her visit in Santa Fe from San Diego. Who has heard of Millicent Rogers? A visit to a museum introduced Dottie to this oil heiress and had her heart broken by Clark Gable.
My son the STAR! Michael will be appearing at Resorts Casino in Atlantic City from July 26th through August 30th. We plan to go to three shows on August 14, 15 & 16th. There is also a Sunday show on the 19th, otherwise shows are Tuesday, Wednesdays and Thursdays. Unfortunately, he will be leaving the Whitemarsh on Thursdays after 7 years! Plan to attend his Fare Thee Well party on May 31st at the Whitemarsh!
Mothers are the best! I miss my Dolores every day. They make you laugh, make you cry and make you roll your eyes at times, but they love you unconditionally. If you are blessed to still have yours, give her hugs. She doesn't want presents, she just wants her kids to be happy and know they are loved. If you don't have a mom, I'm sure someone has treated you like they were so thank them! Happy Mother's Day to to the new moms this year!
It was very brave for Aunt Jan to fly to NC to visit Tommy and Kelly. Tommy reported summer weather so she had to pack the BIG suitcase to have more than enough clothes. Our drive to the airport was free of traffic and she landed safely!
After seeing this look in a magazine, I bought some plates. Jill designed the placement and after much thinking, epoxy and measuring, my handy perfectionist hubby hung them up today. I like it!
Pray for our little girl Sawyer who is undergoing tests for recent seizures. She is also one of the lucky kids that cousin Maureen cares for while Mommy Danielle and Laura are at work. Pictured here is Sawyer wired for an MRI. Poor kid!
We will never forget this Cinco de Mayo celebration. Griz wouldn't pay $10 to park. Thunder Showers recommended Karla's for fresh lemon drop martinis and they proved to be the best. Never made it to Havanna! Bartender Ricky's creations tasted so good we tried the coconut margaritas However we forgot to eat! Met lots of great people who will probably never forget us. We got tattoos. Never shopped except for soap. Spent the night at the Raven Inn. Great fun!
Granddaughter Aubrey of friends Cass and Paul have always had their hands full with her as she is a spunky adventurous kid. Details of how this huge hook caught her eye are not provided, but the photos show all is well! Scary time for mommy Jennifer while down the shore.
Positano Coast is a great place to have shower. Lots of food, friends, fun and many many gifts for the baby boy due in mid June. Bridget was the Queen Mommy for the day as she was surrounded by lots of love. Daddy Craig was so happy to get the gifts back home before the game!
After Victor struggled with parking the car, we had the pleasure of hearing Michael sing and a comedy show featuring Chris Morris. The event was held in a huge room referred to as the Titantic by the comedy team. Our Conshohocken historian informed us that the room used to be a bowling alley. Good food, fun, dancing and good cause for the foundation created by William and Nicole Pierce. Aunt Betty and Aunt Joan were among the guests giving the comedy act more laughs. We were referred to as the old and slow gang as some jokes were too young for us! www.foundationforbabies.org
We have spent more time with Penny since she moved to Boston. She always brings Sock Monkey. This time she got a hair cut and went to a Phillies game and installed our printer. Ruth was in VanCouver at a conference. When she went back to Boston, they went to a Red Sox game at Fenway Park. What a good life!
While Penny was visiting from Boston Lil Griz had an unexpected visit from Sock Monkey's brothers. Rasta and Miami are pictured here. (My hubby Griz is more crazy than me!)
Tina tried to surprise Victor's brother Steve with a 50th birthday party, but he figured it out beforehand. However, the party was lots of fun and food was plentiful. Nieces Lisa and Angela follow in their parents dancing and singing. Even Griz and I were dancing too!
I don't know how Mom Mom or Mike and Reinaldo hosted so many holiday dinners. I was exhausted and Victor helps lots. It was worth the fun though and food was yummy. Bridget showed up 20 pounds bigger. Reinaldo brought me the best flowers. Jill arranged my wall decor and shared the Grand Canyon Photos. The biggest hit was Victor's vintage coat that Mike and Anthony both enjoyed. Anthony plans to wear to school. Coloring eggs was no fun without Ruth and Penny. Hope your Easter was fun filled too.
Michael may have received over 200 birthday wishes on Facebook, but the 13 noisy well wishers at Isabella's created quite a celebration. Besides our usual happy hour drinks and half priced apps, we had rainbow gay cake, butter cake from MerryMead, a store bought 39 again glass (sorry not a nice handpainted one from Barbie Doll) and lots of FUN! Of course, we were told to "quiet it down a bit" but later received an open apology from the owner after we reported the complaint! Many other patrons joined the fun with hugs and "kisses". Handsome friend met him outside! Happy Birthday Michael no matter how old you are!
I survived Larry and Heather living in Maine and Jill's visit to Italy so I am sure I can adjust to Penny living in Boston. It helps that Ruth and Penny are all comfy and happy in their new apartment. Brother Mike was a huge help driving the U-Haul. Sybil the cat has also adjusted to the new surroundings. Penny has become quite the cook. As always she has been the best furniture putter together using Pop Pop's tools. Notice the hand turning drill! We have a Penny Room for whenever they visit. Socks the monkey traveled with her last visit. Always a fun time!
My Aunt Mary is such a huge part of my life. I don't know how I fit work in since taking care of her. She is living in Sunrise of Blue Bell and slowing declining. However, I still enjoy her humor and sarcasm and the wonderful staff in this memory unit enjoy her too. Mary is now using a walker. My husband is such a strong support. Life is so short and we should all enjoy every day and be blessed with all we have. Thanks to Mary we have been reintroduced to the Blue Bell Inn and cousins. Pictured here are cousin Gus and wife Dolores and cousins Arlene and Debbie. It was great to see them all again. Jan and Bruce also visited.
We are all anxiously awaiting for the newest addition to our family. Bridget and Craig will be the proud parents of a baby boy sometime in June. His name is still undecided, but Declan is a front runner. I don't care what I call him or what he calls me. I just can't wait! Shower is planned later this month. Congrats!
Paying all that money for a roof inspired me to go shop for new furniture and get rid of those black sofas! Happy family bought them on Craig's list. No interest on furniture for one year! Griz is busy painting and we are truly enjoying the new look. Since I did not measure, we were worried about the fit, but it works!
So much news to catch up on and don't want to miss Ella and Livia. These precious girls are the love of Aunt Jan's life. Mother Jennifer and Daddy Mike are also proud parents.
Lots of fun with Thunder Showers and Summer Clearance at the Beagle. Our Kinky Quizzo team did not win 1st prize but did win some Kinky stuff. We ate, drank and laughed lots! Griz really got into the dazzle! The look on Michael's face says it all!
A new roof was installed at our house in one day by North Penn Home Improvements. I would have rather gone on a trip, but hubby said we needed a new roof. Next rain we will check for leaks!
We hope Joe Tresnan was smiling when he saw his wife Nancy meet with old girlfriends Teri and Karen for lunch. Nancy recently sold her house and is moving closer to her daughter in Downingtown. We met in Chestnut Hill and found we had lots to talk about. We plan to meet regularly. Joe was the best guy!
Driving to Florida after I retired proved to be a great vacation. Weather in St. Pete's was the best! Our drive was enjoyable and we stopped in Savannah on the way home. Back home there was snow. Penny moved to Boston while we were away. More news and photos to come! Happy New Year!
Maybe I will have more time to update all the exciting news once I retire. Facebook competition is fierce! I have 16 more working days as 12/30 is my last day. Merry Christmas to all of you and a Happy New Year.
Victor was quite surpised to see decorations and everyone who came out to Maple Glen Pizza for his 64th birthday. More of a surprise were the generous gifts including an IPad inside a Teddy Bear! His favorite was probably the stuffed Angry Bird! The Pink Bow Cake was YUMMY! Good food with friends and family is the BEST!
At age 66, Karen has decided to RETIRE! (Maybe then I can keep up with Facebook and this family website.) Inglis House has been so much a part of my life for 19 years and I will miss residents and friends and many fun times (as a Stuette pictured here), but it's time for me to spend more time with my hubby! I gave 90 days with flexibility to replace me, but hope to be retired by the beginning of the year if not sooner. Wish Victor luck to put up with me!
Leona Winifred Guilfoyle Cherry is her name and she was quite the lady. At age 92 she went to sleep for eternity. Her mind was as sharp as a tack. The last time I saw her was in the hospital and she was singing "Til Then" as she listened to Michael singing on my phone. She was my mom's sister, my aunt and my Godmother. Grandmother to many and three of her children passed away before her as did hubby and Uncle John just last year.
Larry, Penny, Dave, Becky, Heather, Joey and Ruth are enjoying the peace of another summer ending at Camp. Trips to Maine, Boston, Camp Camp and relaxing were enjoyed by all.
Pop Pop showed us the trail to the Lenape Indian statue at Valley Green when I was a kid. My kids know where it is and we have frequently visited over the years. Mike and Jose made the trek up the hill this weekend. The statue was also part of the MPM production of ETHEL. I just found out that it has been erroneously referred to as Teedyuscung as we still call him.
Penny has been trying to convince Michael to enjoy the fun at Camp Camp in Maine for ten years. This year he finally made the trip and describes it as one of the best weeks EVER! Pictures may be small(much larger on Facebook), but the amount of fun and friendships formed was enormous! Of course, Momme Karen had fun sending care packages to Ruth, Penny and Mike.
She may look great in this photo, but my dear friend and Aunt Penny to my kids is going through major health maintenance. Please keep her in your prayers.
Locust doesn't really like the long drive to Maine, so Larry, Heather and Trey made a stop along the way. Once on the island in Maine after visiting Grandparents Scot and Sher, Locust feels right at home. Hurricane Irene did not bother him at all. However, you can see there is no clear sky surrounding them.
Every now and then my Aunt Mary shows her appreciation to me for all I do for her. This gift of green tomotoes from her plant in the yard and 3 ketchup packets, you must realize, is very generous and precious to me.
As when we are in the Dollar Store, Mary kept asking how much her haircut would be at Hair Cuttery. She enjoyed the special treatment and we provided entertainment.
Griz has been busy removing the ivy (that I hated) and replanting new bushes. He also got creative with a stone border. Since losing weight, carrying 50 pound bags of mulch is easy! Also, take a look at the deer who we noticed from our deck in the back.
Penny, Ruth and Ruth's Mom traveled to Lancaster for an Arts Festival. Penny sent me this photo with simply the caption as "nice nuts" - nothing more to say!
if you remember my trauma while walking Bixby in August resulting in my thumb nail being ripped off, here it is growing and healing nicely. You have no idea how much you use your thumb nail! I know - UGLY!
Old friend, co-worker and neighbor Don Martin was surprised at a 50th birthday bash given by partner Jeff. It seems like yesterday that he turned 40 and he still lived in Norristown. Lots of family and friends flew to California for the party. Happy Birthday DON! You look marvelous! California weather looks good on both of you.
While attending Tara's open house for 31 Gfts, I called Jill and just asked her if she wanted HOT PINK or BLACK. She chose HOT PINK and was happy she did when I finally gave her the ruffled back pack which is available at 31 Gifts! Email Tara at tarabthirtyone@yahoo.com
Some people are just meant to be together. We all think they look alike, they don't agree, but you have to admit from babies to ten years ago until now ... my girls click together!
After spending a long day at Clementon Park, we celebrated Jackie's birthday with dinner at Chap's and birthday cake and candles of course! Happy Birthday Jackie!
Julie is so creative and always sends the greatest surprises. For my birthday I received two handmade placemats with of course our Teacups on them. How lovely my breakfast looked this morning.
It's hard to believe that this is the baby we prayed for who needed heart surgery at 3 months. Jonah turned ONE on 6/28 and his parents and grandparents are trying to keep up with him.
Uncle Mike invited some guests at Jon and Frank's in Rehoboth. Two of the lucky ones to enjoy the beach and house were Marya and Bridgie. Fun was had by all I am sure!
Great new trendy Isabella's in Conshy has $3 appetizers and drinks during happy hour. We need no excuse to eat and drink and talk, so we formed a bunch and had fun. Malik the bartender is the best!
My recent dog sitting adventure resulted in a broken thumb nail when Bixby ran after a rabbit and my thumb ran into the pole! OUCH! But you have to admit he is a cutie!
It's difficult to keep up with Dottie Ann in San Diego. Her latest adventure was marching in the Pride Parade to support about 500 active military members. Apparently the first time they marched. HOORAH!
How can it be? Bridget turned 28 on July 6th. Mrs. Barrett also just returned from a vacation in Paris with hubby Craig for their first anniversary. The Marc Jacobs watch was also a present. Granny Karen took her to lunch at Friday's after finding out Houlihan's was closed due to a fire! Happy Birthday!
Sadie is such a cute dog! I love the name. Am I the only one writing in the guestbook now?
Reen - Sep 5, 2011
Good luck in your retirement. Glad you kept this website for those people who aren't on Facebook. I enjoy it very much! Love, Cousin Maureen
Julie - Jul 23, 2011
It's your birthday Karen. HAPPY BIRTHDAY my far-a-way friend.......... I miss YOU!!!! Hope Victor made your day special. I love you. Julie
Julie - Jun 4, 2011
LOVE the cruise pictures. Looks like a good time and good weather. Go glad. Jack will only take a cruise if a golf course is available on deck. His loss. (Alaska cruise could be an exception)
