As many of you know, our basement was flooded last week when Cedar Rapids was flooded. We weren't affected directly by the flood, but our sewer backed up and flooded the basement. The water was about knee deep. Friday, we cleaned out the basement ripping up the carpet, flooring, and tearing down the drywall. We pitched just about everything and we'll start new someday. The FEMA guy came today for an inspection and we need to get a new water heater and furnace before we can take hot showers and run the AC. Good thing the weather has been nice this week. We are all doing fine. Nic and Kelly stayed at Tim's parents house until Wednesday to keep Nic away from the fumes of bleach. Nic and Kelly traveled to St. Louis on Thursday for the weekend and will finally return home on Sunday. We'll keep you posted on the basement.
