A new school year is underway with new adventures for everyone!
Emily is a sophomore and is playing competitive volleyball for our Home School team, the Eagles. The girls are playing area schools and although they have only one win thus far in the season (Westminster Preperatory Day School,) they are steadily improving and showing great progress. We look forward to how the team will grow in the coming years.
Morghanne is in 7th grade and is starting her first season on the middle school girls' basketball team with our Home School Eagles. She just began her adventure with braces as well-- hers came on in July shortly after Emily's came off! Another new adventure for Morghanne is her entrance into the Senior Ensemble, the premier performing group of the Suzuki Strings of Augusta.
Jillian is in 5th grade this year and working on all the transitional adventures of a 10 year old trying to keep up with her older sisters. She is excited about her Co-op classes this year, as are her siblings, but is particularly enjoying her home skills class (partly because it was her idea to offer such a class for her age group!) We have a lovely grandmother in our church who is teaching the class and the girls are stitching and sewing currently. Jillian is on Cloud 9!
Emily and Morghanne love their Co-op classes this year too. Both are taking Art from a local artist who is doing wonderful things in her class. Emily is taking an AP 'biology lab first hour and an Elements of Design class which spends part of the year on interior design basics and the other portion on photography, a Shakespeare studies class, and Drama. Morghanne and Jillian both have Science Lab, a current events class, and an Oral Interpretation of Literature class to round out their Co-op days.
We always love to hear from you about what's new in your families, so please let us hear from you some time! Hope all is well! |
