 Welcome to!
The Stanly Montgomery Home School Association (SMHSA) is a Christian organization governed by Biblical principles; however, it is open to those who home school and agree to defer to the policies and principles set by the board of directors. It is our mission to honor Christ as an organization and provide encouragement and support to families choosing home education. SMHSA is a homeschool group based in Stanly and Montgomery County, but we also have members in Anson and Cabarrus County. We offer opportunities for children age K-12, their younger siblings AND parents.

If you are interested in joining our group, please click on the "Registration" link above where you can download a registration form and look at the SMHSA Bylaws.

Because we want to protect the privacy of our members, sections of this website are only accessible to members. Thank you for understanding, and if you would like to find out more about our association, please email the administrator of the website (
 Why should you join SMHSA?
We have monthly activities planned for all ages and parents, too! SMHSA members can participate in field trips, social gatherings, group classes, yearbook design/publishing, service projects, family fun days, and graduation. We'd love for you to be a part of our community.

Many of our members are also members of North Carolinians for Home Education. Please check out their website:
